Typing Test #3

In today's society typing is a very important skill.  Some of you may have had a typing class where you learned the basics.  There are many online sites that provide exercises to improve your typing accuracy and speed.

1.)  Briefly describe (minimum 2 sentences) any classes or exercises you have done to be able to type.

2.)  Go here and do this typing test.  Screen capture the results and post to your blog.

3.)  Then go to a search engine and find a free typing website that you think will help someone improve his/her typing skills.  Explore the site to see what it offers.  Write a short summary of the website (minimum 4 sentences) that includes a link to the website.

Title the blog post "Typing Test #3"

Include at least 2 sentences about your typing education.
Include the JPEG of your results from the typing test.
Include the short summary (at least 4 sentences) of the typing website that you found.
Include a link to that website.

Complete all assigned work

Many of you have missing and/or incomplete assignments.  A few of you are not passing or are getting a low grade because of these missing assignments.  An absence for any reason does not excuse you from an assignment.  All assignments are posted here.  It is your responsibility to complete all assignments.  If you do finish a missing assignment that you received a 0 (zero) for in the grade book, you must let me know.  I will then read and grade that assignment.

ANXIOUS

This is another 1 word assignment.  Type one word that best describes yourself at the moment in the title of a blog post and publish.  Must be a different word from the previous 1 word assignments.

OVERJOYED

This is another 1 word assignment.  Type one word that best describes yourself at the moment in the title of a blog post and publish.  Do not choose the same word as before.

Typing Test #2

Go here and complete some more typing tests.

You will take at least one of each of the 5 timed tests (1 min, 2 min ... 5 min).

You will take a screen shot of the best result for each test, the same as Friday.

You will post on your blogger titled, "Typing Test #2."

You will insert the 5 results pictures in your blog.

This site also has typing games that will increase your typing speed.  Try out the games and type which one is your favorite and why.

My favorite game was Spacebar Invaders.  Everyone try Spacebar Invaders and click yes to submit your score.

HOPEFUL

This is a 1 word assignment.  Type one word that best describes yourself at the moment in the title of a blog post and publish.

Typing Test

Today you are going to show your typing prowess.  Go to this site and do some 1, 2 and 3 minute typing tests.

You can choose any of the 8 different sources of words to use for your tests.

After you have gotten your results in each test, you will print that screen.
On a mac you hold down the apple key, the shift key and the number 3 key at the same time.
That sends a PNG to your desktop.

You will then open that PNG file in preview.
Click file-save as
change to JPEG
rename to yourlastname1, yourlastname2 and yourlastname3.

You will then post each JPEG in a blog post titled "Typing Test."

You should take the 1 minute typing test at least 5 times, the 2 minute test at least 3 times and the 3 minute test at least twice  (17 minutes of typing).  Make sure you save the results screen of your highest adjusted speed (words typed minus errors) to publish to your blog.
